Metea Valley students remember sophomore killed in crash

It’s common for students at Metea Valley High School in Aurora to show their school spirit by dressing in white T-shirts for football games.

On Wednesday, students dressed in white to honor one of their own — a student who friends say was excited to play in front of his classmates on next year’s varsity squad but never got the chance.

Devin Meadows, a 15-year-old Metea sophomore, was killed in a car crash early Tuesday; police say he and three friends were in a fast-moving car that struck a curb and crashed into a house’s attached garage. Devin, who police say wasn’t wearing a seat belt, flew out of the back seat and landed on the street, where he was pronounced dead.
